In “There and Back” I present to you a collection of 79 black and white photographs that offer a glimpse into the captivating tapestry of human existence. Each image showcases a distinct individual or a group of people, seemingly disconnected from one another. These diverse subjects traverse a common space, moving forward or retracing their steps, representing various ages, genders, and backgrounds. They wander alone, accompanied by loved ones, friends, children, dogs, or ride bicycles. Yet, their professions, financial status, and personal beliefs remain shrouded in mystery, as there are no obvious clues within these frames.

What binds these individuals together is the shared setting – the very same frame – and the precise moment when the shutter clicked. Every photograph in this series was captured in a single location, during a tranquil Sunday afternoon, each taken just moments apart.

What fascinates me as the photographer and creator of this series is the profound revelation of our inherent similarities, hidden beneath the surface differences. The use of black and white photography deliberately eliminates color distractions, allowing the essence of each image to shine through. I intentionally employed various formats, including squares and rectangles, to emphasize that, despite the shift in perspective and aspect ratio, the photographs share a common foundation.
